TOMMY ALVERSON, known as the "Godfather of Metroplex Honky- Tonks," has long been a dynamic fixture on the Texas music scene and respected by all whom cross his path. He has recently been receiving abundant radio airplay with his hit single "Una Mas Cervesa" and continues to expand his loyal fan base throughout Texas, as well as over seas with his songwriting and soulful performances. Whether he's on a stool solo or with a full band, his talent shines through in every note he sings and plays.
Alverson has shared the stage with Texas legends Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush, Johnny Gimble, Leon Rausch, Jerry Jeff Walker, Clay Blaker, Gary P. Nunn, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Radney Foster, Steven Fromholz, as well as the new outlaws, Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green, Charlie Robison, Cory Morrow, Dale Watson, and nationally renowned singer/songwriter, Jim Lauderdale.
His discography includes Texasongs, a compilation of his first
two cassette releases,
“From The Heart Of Hill County” and “Always In My Heart”,
“Live at Ozona”, produced by legendary producer Phil York, “Me
On The Jukebox”, co-produced by Alverson and Lloyd Maines (which contains
the hit "Una Mas Cerveza"), and just released in 2001, “Alive
And Pickin” which was recorded live at the historic Chatauqua Auditorium
in Waxahachie, Texas. Also, Alverson's "Hill Country Here I Come"
is featured on the 2001 release Texas Road Trip compilation (Compadre Records).

Tommy Alverson's Texas Music Family Gathering is now in its 7th year. Beginning
as a very small get-together in 1998 at Melody Mountain Ranch in Stephenville,
where it was voted Best Outdoor Event for 1999 by the Met magazine (Dallas).
Gaining momentum every year. it was moved from Stephenville to Smooth Water
Ranch in Hico in 2000. The Gathering is a great showcase of Texas music as it
brings together the veterans and new talent alike to form a music festival that
appeals to a large, diverse audience yet still retaining the feeling the "Texas
Music Family". In 2002 the festival was moved to Glen Rose at the Tres
Rios River Ranch, where the numbers of fans and friends reached approximately
2,500. In 2003 the numbers rose to 4,000. Tres Rios remains the place the Gathering
wants to stay and hopefully will max out at around 5,000 in attendance. This
year saw Radney Foster, Johnny Bush, Deryl Dodd, Cooder Graw, Rusty Wier, Ray
Wylie Hubbard, Steven Fromholz, grace the stage just to name a few. You can
check out the Gathering at www.tommyalverson.com.
