CATIE CURTIS (Boston, Ms.) - Raised in rural Southern Maine, Catie emerged from the Boston music scene in 1989, and by 1992, had released her first CD and given up her day job. By 1993, she had expanded her touring beyond a dozen states and earned a nomination for Outstanding New Folk/Acoustic Act at the 1993 Boston Music Awards. Now in 1997, she has two CD's and is an accomplished guitarist and a skillful and intensley personal wordsmith who performs with quiet confidence and graceful humor. She has been well received in every major American and Canadian city and has toured Texas clubs in Austin, Dallas, and Houston. She appeared at both the 1995 and 1996 Kerrville Folk Festivals, the Philadelphia, Falcon Ridge and the Greenwich Village Folk Festival along with a half dozen others. Her song, "Radical" was nominated for Song of the Year by the Kerrville Music Awards. Catie returns to the Kerrville stage on the opening night of the 6th annual Kerrville Wine & Music Festival next Fall. |
